Liftoff of Space X’s Falcon 9

Today, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off successfully from Cape Canaveral and reached orbit in a historic launch. This is the first flight of a privately developed rocket and is therefore a substantial step forward in the move towards contributions from private industry in space exploration.
