TED: Neil Gershenfeld – The Beckoning Promise of Personal Fabrication

Neil Gershenfeld has been making the rounds lately in Boston area, on Tuesday he was part of a panel promoting the book This Will Change Everything (a great read) and on Wednesday he gave his TED talk (below) at the Museum of Science. His work, through the fab labs, undoubtedly will revolutionize the manufacturing process and help to enable those with unmet need and those without substantial funding. In his own words, “it’s fabrication for a market of one” or more.

From TED:

MIT professor Neil Gershenfeld talks about his Fab Lab — a low-cost lab that lets people build things they need using digital and analog tools. It’s a simple idea with powerful results.
