Racism in America and The Future of Humanity

When will we move beyond ‘Us vs. Them’ mentality and dissolve the fictious invisible boundaries between states to realize that we are all one people? The time has come when we have to evaluate the rights, values, freedoms and survival of humanity as a whole. I acknowledge that living in the San Francisco Bay Area I am isolated from the majority of this xenophobia and that there is a significant portion of the nation where this is accepted as the norm, but it is difficult to see such behavior documented in real life situations.

Thankfully, there are people who are working towards a humanism that might dissolve such boarders as noted in the following interview on The John Stewart Daily Show with Anna Baltzer and Mustafa Barghouti. Again, I recognize that it is in our evolution to posses xenophobia, but I can only hope that reason and humanitarianism will prevail in this day and age.
