An Iranian Open Letter to the World
In follow-up to the previous post regarding the current demonstrations taking place in Iran in response to what is perceived as a corrupt Presidential Election, I came across the following video which is an open letter to the world from an Iranian artist in exile. It’s evident that these demonstrations will have a significant impact on the state of democracy in the middle east and beyond; with such, I feel it’s imperative that we support their call to action.
Human beings are members of a whole,
In creation of one essence and soul.
If one member is afflicted with pain,
Other members uneasy will remain.
If you have no sympathy for human pain,
The name of human you cannot retain.- Saadi
